What users say

Groundwater solutions

We were experiencing rising damp and a constant feeling of dampness around the house. Installing GEPS was quick and had no impact on the existing infrastructure. Since then, the ground has been stable and we no longer have any dampness, even after heavy rain.

D.J.

Homeowner, Ferney-Voltaire, France

Groundwater solutions

Before GEPS, our basement was regularly flooded, and the persistent dampness made the air unhealthy. Since the installation, the basement is perfectly dry all year round, without maintenance, and the results have remained stable almost ten years later.

S.M.

Homeowner, Founex, Switzerland

Groundwater solutions

We had significant water infiltration problems in our basement. After installing the GEPS system, which took only a week and required no major construction work, the problems completely disappeared. More than six years later, the system still works perfectly, even during heavy rain.

Homeowner, Crêts-de-Champel, Switzerland

Soil nutrient solutions

A group of various trees were planted in a small orchard north of Palmer Park in 2014. All the trees had health issues and struggled to survive. We installed NEPS on 21 of the total 43 trees at the location in December 2017. We’ve observed significant/healthy growth in nearly all trees with NEPS installed, whereas trees without NEPS struggle to bloom and/or died.

Soil nutrient solutions

Decorative trees were planted in the middle of a parking lot in 2008. The trees had to be replaced in 2016 due to health issues. The newly planted trees struggled also and were planned on being replaced once again. In February 2018, NEPS were installed around these trees to promote healthier growth. Since then, the trees greatly increased their vitality and have grown like never before.

Exlterra's GEPS transformed our waterlogged parks into vibrant, usable spaces. The system resolved standing water issues and reduced mosquito presence, making areas suitable for recreational activities.

James Breuckman

City Manager, City of Pleasant Ridge, USA

Groundwater solutions

After more than six years of use, the system works perfectly. We have had no further humidity issues despite heavy rainfall, with a solution that is simple, non-invasive, and fully reliable over time.

M.S.

Homeowner, Chavannes-des-Bois, Switzerland

Groundwater solutions

Since installation, the ground has remained firm and free of standing water year-round, transforming previously unusable areas into reliable, maintenance-free public spaces.

Carrie A. Laird

City of Birmingham, USA

Groundwater solutions

The GEPS system eliminated the root cause of moisture in the walls, resulting in completely dry basement rooms, without disruptive works or impact on the building’s operation.

Groundwater solutions

GEPS effectively eliminated standing water and has consistently met our expectations. It improved site safety, maintained stable ground conditions year-round, and delivered a direct positive impact on airport operations.

Jason Watt

Coleman A. Young Airport, Detroit, USA

Groundwater solutions

The results are particularly impressive: the basement is now completely dry year-round, the air is healthier, and nearly ten years later the system continues to perform flawlessly without any maintenance.

H.A.Z.

Homeowner, Chêne-Bougeries, Switzerland

Groundwater solutions

GEPS provides a permanent, invisible balance of soil moisture. The ground remains playable in wet periods, retains sufficient moisture in dry periods, and requires no maintenance. Turf quality, root depth, and overall playability have significantly improved.

The GEPS technology might best be described as novel and is unique in my over 40 years of experience in water resource management, including wetland design and operation. It cannot be readily compared with existing surface drainage methods that depend on pipes or channels to deliver water to holding basins. The GEPS is passive but has great capacity for water movement, taking advantage of many mechanisms and processes.

Dr. Edwin Herricks

Professor Emeritus of Environmental Biology, University of Illinois, Urbana, USA

Soil decontamination

The NSPS technology is a revolutionary approach to radioactive soil decontamination. Unlike any method I have encountered in my career, it accelerates the natural decay process without chemicals, excavation, or disruption to the environment. It harnesses naturally occurring positrons and redirects their energy, and achieves what was previously deemed impossible: breaking down radioactive nuclei within contaminated soil. Its passive operation and long-term effectiveness present a sustainable, innovative solution to one of the world's most complex environmental challenges.

Most of the GEPS within the infiltration basin enhanced the local infiltration rate. The infiltration rates associated with two of the shallow GEPS were 7.4 – 8.6 times faster than the one associated with native soil conditions. The infiltration rate associated with the deep GEPS was 10.2 times faster than that associated with native soil conditions.

Resolving Municipal Stormwater Issues with GEPS®

Resolving Municipal Stormwater Issues with GEPS®

GEPS® reframes the entire relationship between a resident's stormwater complaint and what a municipality can offer in response. Instead of telling a homeowner that the system cannot accept their water, municipalities can point to a solution that resolves the problem on-site, without adding a single gallon to the storm sewer system.

Protecting Solar Investments from the Ground Up with GEPS®

A passive, maintenance-free technology from Exlterra called the Groundwater Energy Passive System (GEPS®), addresses both of solar's major soil-related headaches: stormwater runoff driven by construction compaction and decreased permeable surface area, and long-term structural damage caused by uneven moisture distribution around panel footings.

The Ground Beneath Your Feet Is Moving — And GEPS Is Here to Help

If you've ever noticed cracks snaking across a basement wall, doors that suddenly won't close right, or a driveway that's heaved up in the middle of nowhere, you may have experienced one of the most costly and least-talked-about problems in construction: expansive clay heave.

It's a problem that quietly destroys billions of dollars in homes, commercial buildings, and infrastructure every year.

Overcoming Soil Infiltration Barriers: How GEPS Solves the Problem

Water needs to move through soil for healthy plants, stable foundations, and effective stormwater management. But in many places, water can’t get into the soil volume as it should. This is usually due to the type of soil, how the soil is arranged, or the way different soil layers interact. Below, we explain the main reasons why soil infiltration is often poor and how Exlterra's Groundwater Energy Passive System (GEPS) can help.
